Update Huawei Ascend G8 (GX8) to EMUI 4.0 Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow Official Firmware

It is the time for the Huawei Ascend G8 (GX8) users to Rejoice. Chinese Manufacture Huawei has rolled out the Latest Marshmallow update for the Popular Huawei G8 aka G8. Both the Single and Dual SIM variant of GX8  had started receiving Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow in the form of EMUI 4.0 Skin. This will upgrade their firmware to Build RIO-L01C432B340 on the Dual SIM version and RIO L01C432B330 on the Single SIM version. The EMUI version has changed to 4.0 for the Single SIM with B330. However, it is still EMUI 3.1 for the other Huawei Devices.

The update has been rolled out in most of the European Countries including  Spain, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, etc. The EMUI 4.0 based on Android 6.0.1 brings many new features, stability, bug fixes and performance improvements to the GX8.

  • This Firmware is a complete update file, so it is not important which firmware you have now.

How to Update Huawei P8 Lite to EMUI 4.0 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow (Dual SIM):

Step 1: First of all check for the OTA Update in you Phone Setting. If you find OTA is available, you do not need this tutorial.

Step 2: Make a Backup of your all important personal data and charge your phone up to 85% or more.

Step 3: Download EMUI 4.0 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow for Huawei Ascend G8 (GX8) from the above-given link.

Step 4: Unzip downloaded file in your computer

Step 5: Copy folder dload (with update.app file) in root of your Internal storage or on your microSD card.

Step 6: If you copy the update.zip file correctly, there will be this file shown now, tap on it and start installation

Please wait for some time. That’s it! Your Huawei Ascend G8 (GX8) should now have EMUI 4.0 based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow installed on your phone! Go to Settings > About phone to verify.
